The 4 Best Things to Do in Ocean City for Christmas

So much of the tourism in Ocean City bustles in the summer, but there are amazing and fun things to do in the holiday season in Ocean City Maryland as well. When you hang out in Ocean City for Christmastime, you’ll see millions of pretty holiday lights and experience great deals and discounts at your favorite restaurants, hotels, and shops. Here are a few of the best activities in Ocean City Maryland in the winter. 

Winterfest of Lights 

This is probably one of the biggest holiday attractions in Ocean City during the season. The Tunnel of Lights at the Inlet Parking Lot in Ocean City will be decorated with thousands of Christmas lights. The Tunnel of Lights at the inlet lot is usually decorated in a nautical theme which is so fitting for the city. Also lit up as a part of the Winterfest of lights, is the Avenue of Trees which runs from 15th to 32nd streets. Each street has a tree display decorated with lights and wreaths you can take the Winterfest Express Tram ride that will give you a tour through all of the lights. Every lighted display is huge and amazing. You can see displays including scenes from fairytales, or pictures from favorite stories, or some of your favorite and most recognized characters made out of holiday lights. 

Ocean City Christmas Parade 

This parade meanders along the Coastal Highway on Saturday, December 6th at 11 AM. The parade starts at 100th St. and goes northbound along the southbound lanes of the Coastal Highway to the Gold Coast Mall at 115th Street. There will be more than 80 walking participants to the parade. The parade is expected to be running from 11 AM to 3 PM and is an amazing family-friendly outdoor event. Those who come out for the parade love to watch the traditional floats, marching bands, horses, llamas, antique cars, clowns, and other musicians. At the end of the parade, Mrs. Clause and Santa make an appearance. 

Victorian Christmas in Berlin 

This is a charming event that several people love in the nearby neighboring town of Berlin Maryland. It is just 6 miles west of Ocean City. The town will be decorated to the brim for the holidays. You can check out holiday window displays while walking down Main Street, or enjoy a carriage ride through the town center, or go and meet Santa.

Fager’s Island 

Every year Fager’s Island hosts a customer appreciation Christmas party, and this year the party will be on Friday, December 17 at 9 PM. The party will feature a Christmas buffet that is complementary and bar drinks at happy hour prices all night long. There will be live entertainment and everyone who plans to attend the party is asked to bring a toy donation for the Toys-for-Tots organization, or a cash donation that will be given to the toy drive for needy children. It is a fun way to celebrate for a good cause.
